Footprints Theatre Company

Performing Arts and Literature

The company works with children exploring ideas and responding in an artistic way to ‘found objects’ and the site. The work is varied and can be in different arts mediums. For example the children may create a group poem which is hung on a tree at the site for others to read, or, may use pebbles found at the site to create a musical rhythm which, they then use in a performance, or they may respond to a piece of local history that they uncover. Performance work can be in specific art form if requested or can be a multi-arts approach.  All work is National Curriculum referenced and designed with opportunities for assessment for learning built in.

Cross curricular work

The work that we do offers significant opportunities to develop an understanding of the environment through geography, biology and history as well as building social skills. Projects can be tailored to developing and understanding the biodiversity of the site, environmental considerations, or local history.

Outdoor Learning

Many of our workshops and performances take place outside. We encourage students to actively learn about their evironment in an imaginative and artistic way which they then reflect on. Activities such as creating a sound collage from 'found objects', or responding to what is around them by creating a personal artistic response.
